Techie Creation - Seattle Monorail
Modern photography relies on a complex ecosystem of technology, from precise camera settings and lighting controllers to advanced post-processing software. To ensure consistent results, you need a photographer who combines artistic vision with technical fluency. The Monorail was still using payment booths from the World's Fair of 1962, and these couldn't handle the volume of riders expected for Kraken hockey games at the renovated Climate Pledge Arena. I was asked to design and build a SQL-based ticketing and entry gate system as part of a $7M renovation project in downtown Seattle. My role encompassed performing the feasibility study and project planning, system architecture, database design, data modeling, application development, user experience design, mechanical design, and electronic engineering, while interfacing with external systems such as credit card processors, ORCA and the Kraken app.
